Israelis were waiting for Sunday’s announcement by their attorney general on whether he plans to indict Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for fraud and breach of trust in an influence-trading scandal.

One TV report said Netanyahu won’t be prosecuted. But members of Netanyahu’s coalition still threaten to bring down the government, and ministers from Netanyahu’s own Likud party hinted that they might resign.

Atty. Gen. Eliakim Rubinstein met with State Attorney Edna Arbel late into Saturday night to finalize a report on who, if anybody, in Netanyahu’s inner circle will be prosecuted.

Rubinstein reportedly has decided there is insufficient evidence to go after Justice Minister Tsahi Hanegbi or Avigdor Lieberman, director general of the prime minister’s office. He reportedly was undecided on Arbel’s recommendation to indict Arieh Deri, leader of a government coalition party.
