Britpop trio Supergrass titled its just-released sophomore effort “In It for the Money,” but band members say dollars are the last thing on their minds.
“It’s a bit sarcastic because as everyone knows, unless you get really, really big, you never make tons of money,” says drummer Danny Goffey. “. . . We were just having a laugh.”
The new album boasts the sort of hook-filled guitar-driven pop that made Supergrass’ debut, “I Should Coco,” a European chart-topper. “In It for the Money” (Capitol) has reached No. 2 in Britain.
