John E. Cristy, 76, of Woodstock, died Thursday in Memorial Medical Center in Woodstock. He served in the Army during World War II. Mr. Cristy was a dairy farmer in the Greenwood area for many years, and he worked for Lakeland Construction Co. for more than 20 years, retiring in 1982. He was a volunteer for the Family Alliance in Woodstock, and he received the Gold Heart Award from the United Way for his service. Mr. Cristy is survived by his wife, Doris; four sons, John W., Gene, Frank and Robert Fosnaugh; six daughters, Geraldine Krohn, Mary Hoffman, Barb Rasmussen, Nancy Seisser, Ruth Sievertsen and Shirley Chronister; three brothers; a sister; 31 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in Schneider-Leucht-Merwin and Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock.
