Dr. James McCarthy, 78, a chiropractor and 30-year resident of Wheaton, died Saturday at Manor Health Care of Westmont. Born in Minneapolis, Dr. McCarthy received a bachelor’s of science degree from St. Thomas University in St. Paul and a doctor of chiropractic degree from Logan College in St. Louis. He practiced in Berwyn for more than 30 years and was a member of the West Suburban Chiropractic Clinic. Survivors include his wife, Alezine; two sons, Dr. James and Michael; a daughter, Colleen; a brother; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Rd., Wheaton. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Michael Church, 315 W. Illinois St., Wheaton.
