Marion Piehl, 85, a former PTA president of Hitch Elementary School on the Northwest Side of Chicago, died Thursday in the Little Sisters of the Poor St. Joseph’s Home for the Elderly in Palatine. Mrs. Piehl was born and reared on the North Side. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to her four children. From 1950 to 1956, she served two terms as president of Hitch Elementary School’s PTA. Mrs. Piehl enjoyed square dancing and making pottery for her family and friends. In 1972, Mrs. Piehl moved with her husband, the late Arthur, to Leesburg, Fla. In 1989, she returned to live in Palatine. She is survived by three sons, Edward, Gary and David; a daughter, Crystal Peterson; and eight grandchildren. Services will be held in late August.
