The Bensenville Village Board voted unanimously Tuesday night to approve a contract to bring a new state-of-the-art printing and copying system to municipal offices.

Village staff members said the new system with the ability to connect with the village’s computer network will lead to the end of water bills the size of postcards in the village. Tom Truty, director of management services, said residents have long complained the small cards are easily lost in the mail.

The new system will print water bills in the form of a statement on standard paper, Truty said, leaving the back of the sheet available for village announcements..

It would have cost more than $80,000 to buy the Oce Corp. system. Instead, the village will lease it for at least a year and up to 60 months at a cost of $1,800 per month.
