Maybe Lindsay Davenport is ready to end her streak of disappointing performances in the biggest tournaments.

Davenport, who has never gotten past the quarterfinals in a major, heads to the U.S. Open on perhaps the best roll of her career, capped by a 6-4, 6-1 victory Saturday over Sandrine Testud in the finals of the U.S. Women’s Hardcourt Championships at Stone Mountain, Ga.

“This whole hardcourt season I’ve played extremely well,” said Davenport, who left Saturday evening for New York, where she is seeded sixth in the Open. “Especially this week, I was really focused.”

– Fifth-seeded Carlos Moya beat Julian Alonso 6-2, 6-3 to reach the final of the Hamlet Cup at Commack N.Y. Moya will face eighth-seeded Patrick Rafter, a 6-4, 6-4 winner over sixth-seeded Thomas Enqvist.

– Unseeded Sjeng Schalken continued his string of upsets by defeating fifth-seeded Albert Costa 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 to advance to the final of the MFS Pro Championships at Brookline, Mass.
