Vince Giacopelli, 63, of Wheaton, a native of Sicily and a former production foreman in the communications industry, died Tuesday in DuPage County Convalescent Center in Wheaton. He was with Motorola for 23 years, working his way up to become foreman, his son, Anthony Giacopelli, said. He retired in the early 1980s. He was dedicated to his job, his son said. “His last two years he was wheelchair-bound. He equipped his car with handicapped controls, drove himself to work and was never late,” Giacopelli said. Other survivors include a daughter, Maria; a brother; a sister; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Rd., Wheaton. Services will begin with a 9:30 a.m. Friday prayer service in the funeral home and continue with a 10 a.m. mass in St. John the Baptist Church, 233 Church St., Winfield.
