Gertrude Boardman, 84, a native of Chicago, died Tuesday in St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago. During World War II, she served in the U.S. Women’s Army Corps. After the war, she worked as a secretary for many years in the payroll department of International Harvester, which became Navistar. She is survived by a nephew and two nieces. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Shalom Memorial Park, U.S. Highway 12, Palatine.
