Robert E. Koch, 73, of Marco Island, Fla., formerly of Mt. Prospect, died Thursday. Born in Chicago, Mr. Koch was a retired sales manager for Illinois Range Co. He was also a drummer in the Sentimentalists band. An Army veteran who served in the headquarters of Gen. Douglas MacArthur in the Pacific during World War II, Mr. Koch was a member of the Mt. Prospect post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also was a member of the Mt. Prospect Lions Club and Des Plaines Elks Club. Survivors include his wife, Jean; a son, Robert Arnold; two daughters, Cheryl Lynn Hovany and Phyllis Jean; and a brother. Services will be at noon Monday at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd., Mt. Prospect.
