The Plan Commission approved a 30-acre residential project after concerns about the safety and efficiency of a proposed retention pond were put to rest.
Jim Doherty, an engineer for the developer of the Davey Farm project, reported that safety issues regarding the pond have been minimized, largely as a result of the 30 to 40 feet of wetland plantings that would be placed along the pond’s perimeter.
Doherty said the pond is “environmentally sound and simply makes good design sense.” Its capability to handle rain exceeds the city ordinance.
In addition, Lexington Avenue will connect to the adjacent Knolls subdivision. The proposal goes to the Community Development Committee for review.
