Lawrence Smith, 67, of Hoffman Estates died Sunday while on a fishing trip in Madison, Wis. Mr. Smith was born in Orrville, Ala. He is survived by his wife, Lula; two sons, Lawrence and Edward; four daughters, Aleda McNeil, Devonne Groff, Adrianne Bridges and Savanga Smith; five brothers; two sisters; and five granddaughters. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by services at 10:30 a.m., in the Second Baptist Church, 1280 Summit St., Elgin.
