Comedy is coming to the University of Southern California thanks to $1 million from the estate of George Burns, which will fund the George Burns Distinguished Visiting Professorship in Performance at the School of Theatre, Dean Robert Scales said Tuesday.
“The professorship will enable the school to recruit for its faculty some of today’s best performers, talented and successful individuals whose busy schedules prevent them from taking a permanent, full-time teaching post,” Scales said.
