Michael Kunz, 79, a manufacturing engineer and 32-year resident of Park Ridge, died Friday of a heart attack in Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Mr. Kunz was born in Liebling, Romania, and immigrated to Chicago with his parents. He grew up in Chicago’s Roseland neighborhood and later graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Mr. Kunz owned Excelsior Brass in Evanston for several years and worked for many other companies, including Graymills in Chicago, as a manufacturing engineer. Mr. Kunz was active in St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Park Ridge, where he served as a trustee. He is survived by his wife, Jane; two sons, Andy and Jim; a daughter, Mary Christiansen; and nine grandchildren. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Andrews Church, 260 N. Northwest Highway, Park Ridge. Services will follow at 11 a.m.
