Vergil E. Lyon, 92, of DeKalb died Saturday in Oakcrest DeKalb Area Retirement Center in DeKalb. Born in Eureka, Ill., Mr. Lyon was a graduate of Normal Teachers College, which is now Northern Illinois University, and he obtained his doctorate degree from the University of Wisconsin. He for many years was a computer data analyst and statistician for A.D. Nielsen in Evanston. He was a member of the team that brought about the first Univac computer. Mr. Survivors include three sisters. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel, 141 N. Maple St., Hinckley.
