To fix up Armstrong Elementary School, which has been closed for several weeks because of a high mold content in its carpeting, the Elementary School District 54 Board is expected to approve purchase of new floor tile this week.

The school’s pupils are attending other schools temporarily.

The school sits on a flood plain, where surrounding properties drain, increasing the moisture level, so Supt. Lynne Rauch said that the administration recommends tile flooring over carpeting.
