Elderly drivers should be tested every year. Even if they pass, friends and family should help convince those who no longer possess their full faculties to stop driving. Drivers such as the one in Wednesday’s accident in the Loop in which two people were killed are an endangerment to themselves and to everyone around them.
Many elderly drivers refuse to give up their driving privileges because of their pride. This is outright selfishness. How many more have to be hurt before something is done to take these people off the road?
