Mildred E. Sanborn, 96, a lifelong Palatine resident, died Monday in her home. Mrs. Sanborn had worked as a medical secretary for Elementary School District 15 and was involved in educational organizations such as the Palatine Eastern Star. She was also an active member of First United Methodist Church in Palatine. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Ann Sanborn; a son, Richard; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway. A service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
