Lorraine Ruth Petty, 72, of Hoffman Estates, died Thursday in Columbia Hoffman Estates Medical Center. Mrs. Petty, who was born in Chicago, was retired from A.E. Staley Manufacturing Co. in Decatur, where she worked as a stenographer. She was a member of Abiding Peace Lutheran Church in Elgin and of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by her husband, Lyle; a son, William; four daughters, Diane Kantrovich, Linda Meegan, Barbara Palms and Patricia Franz; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Ahlgrim and Sons Funeral Home, 330 W. Golf Rd., Schaumburg.
