Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Traveling man: Toni Kukoc didn’t have to ride an exercise bike before Wednesday’s game against the Wizards–he was in the starting lineup for the first time since opening night in Boston.

Jackson believes the exercise bike is a good idea for Kukoc. Other players around the league have begun riding bikes during down time in games, including Seattle’s Vin Baker.

“It helps keep his heart rate up,” Jackson said. “I think it’s a proven commodity that if your heart rate maintains a certain level, you can come back and perform at a certain level.”

Kukoc has a plan for the bike-riding.

“What I’m trying to do is get all the way around the world,” he said. “I’m measuring the miles each time I ride it. Once I make it around the world, I’m going to stop.”

And where is Kukoc now?

“Well, I started in Japan,” he said. “I’m definitely going to stop over in Croatia.”
