Elk Grove Village trustees approved a 90-day trial involving their fire department and the Wood Dale Fire Protection District to help each other in responding to calls in selected areas of both communities.
Under the automatic aid agreement, Wood Dale firefighters would respond to Elk Grove Village calls south of Devon Avenue and east of Wood Dale Road.
Elk Grove Village firefighters would respond to Wood Dale calls in an area bordered by Devon Avenue, Irving Park Road, Prospect Avenue and Illinois Highway 83.
