Mayor Richard M. Daley will lead a memorial tribute commemorating the 10th anniversary of the death of former Mayor Harold Washington.

The city and Washington’s family have planned details of the program, to be held before the regularly scheduled City Council meeting. It will feature the Chicago Children’s Choir and remarks by Washington’s brother, Ramon Price, among others.

A pupil from Harold Washington School will be selected to read from Washington’s writings.

Chicagoans will have an opportunity to sign a remembrance book for Washington, who died in office Nov. 25, 1987, was Chicago’s 42nd mayor and the first African-American to hold that office.
