Isiah Thomas could be leaving the Toronto Raptors and moving to a broadcasting job with NBC-TV.
Thomas, the team’s general manager who also owns about 9 percent of the Raptors, said at a news conference before Tuesday’s game against Boston that he has held discussions with NBC regarding a job.
“Yes, there have been conversations (with) NBC. I was offered a job, I didn’t go looking for one. An opportunity came along and we’re talking about it,” said Thomas, the former Indiana and St. Joseph High School star who led Detroit to two NBA titles.
Thomas attempted to purchase majority control of the club from Allan Slaight after last season, but a deal couldn’t be worked out. Thomas said at the time that he was committed to staying in Toronto.
