Theodore Banks, 66, a retired postal clerk in Chicago for more than 30 years, died Tuesday in the Glenshire Nursing Home in Richton Park. He was a resident of the Gresham neighborhood. Mr. Banks served in the U.S. Army in the late 1940s and was stationed in Panama. He started with the U.S. Post Office as a railway transfer clerk and later was assigned to the main Chicago post office. He retired in 1988. Mr. Banks did extensive fishing after his retirement, traveling to other parts of the country as a member of the Hooks, Sinkers and Fins Fishing Club. Survivors include a son, Duane; a daughter, Claudia; a sister; two brothers; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be 3 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Taylor Funeral Home, 63 E. 79th St. Services will be held at 10:45 a.m. Saturday in the Way of Truth Church, 6456 S. California Ave.
