Between 1994 and 1995, the number of women in construction-related fields increased 6 percent, to 762,000 from 718,000. In addition, the number of female-owned construction companies has risen 171 percent since 1987, female construction managers and professionals have increased 40 percent since 1990, to 209,000, and women land developers shot up nearly 200 percent between 1982 and 1991.
