I applaud the voters of Oregon for recently retaining the law legalizing physician-assisted suicide. I doubt, unfortunately, that many other states will follow in those footsteps, allowing the terminally ill to die with dignity.

Not knowing what potentially ghastly illness I may face in the future, Oregon’s progressive attitude on this point puts it high on my list of places to retire.
