Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
On a recent cold and windy Saturday, my daughter and I took a bus from Battle Creek, Mich., to Chicago–our first visit to the city. We were on Devon Avenue about 3 p.m., with heavy bags in tow, and tried unsuccessfully for more than 30 minutes to hail a taxicab to take us to Water Tower Place, where our bus would pick us up for the trip back to Battle Creek.
Just then I spotted a policeman writing a ticket. I approached him, and after I explained our problem, he was kind enough to get us a taxi. He also made sure that we would be safely transported to our destination.
My daughter and I want to thank this policeman for his kindness and help.
