I find it hard to believe that the Tribune published the letter by Tony Stubblebine on Dec. 3 (“Microsoft suit”). His tirade against Microsoft ends with him refuting his own complaint.
Let’s see now, Microsoft is rotten for making computer dealers give us Explorer, but Explorer and Netscape are interchangeable, and both offer free versions. Since you can use Explorer to get to Netscape’s web site to download their software to replace Explorer it seems to me that Microsoft is doing us a favor. If we didn’t have a browser to get to Netscape’s site, we would have to buy or load one. This way I can have both on my computer, compare the two and get rid of the one I don’t like.
Yep, that Bill Gates is really rotten, all right, giving me his browser to make it easier to compare to the other guy’s product. The gall of the man knows no bounds! Usually, you guys at the Tribune are better than this.
