Dr. Robert Winter, 52, former associate dean for medical education at Northwestern University Medical Center, died Wednesday in his Bloomingdale home of diabetes. Dr. Winter graduated from Northwestern University Medical School and joined the school’s faculty in 1975. He was named the Irene Heinz Given and John LaPorte Given Professor of Pediatrics at Children’s Memorial Hospital. He was appointed associate dean of the medical center in 1994. Survivors include his wife, Willa; a son, Andrew; and a brother. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Jan. 12 in the Fourth Presbyterian Church of Chicago at Michigan Avenue and Delaware Place.
