The Chicago Swing Half-Breeds are kicking off ’98 with a sizzling batch of dance classes, so shake off those post-holiday blahs by learning to dance to classic big-band tunes or by honing your Lindy Hop. The Half-Breeds’ classes, which begin the week of Jan. 18, cost $40 for six weekly lessons, and beginners’ classes can be found at the following spots: noon Sundays at Blue Door Studio, 1809 W. Webster Ave.; 7 p.m. Mondays and 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays at St. Alphonsus Church, 2941 N. Greenview Ave. You can just show up to individual classes, but it’s safer to register for the whole series by sending a check to the Chicago Swing Half-Breeds, 2324 W. Cornelia Ave., Chicago, Ill. 60618. Info about other swing classes and dance nights can be found on the group’s hotline (312-409-0039) or on its website (www.reaproductions.com/shb). So jump to it!
