Robert E. Orton, 82, an engineering draftsman and Elmhurst resident, died Thursday at his home. Mr. Orton worked as an engineering draftsman for Sargeant and Lundy in Chicago. He retired in 1985. Mr. Orton was born in Wright Township, Minnesota, and has lived in the Chicago area since 1946. He was a World War II veteran with the Navy. Mr. Orton is survived by his wife, Carolyn; a son, James; a grandson; and two brothers. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Pedersen-Ryberg Mortuary, 435 N. York St., Elmhurst.
