The Bolingbrook Village Board voted Tuesday night to approve a zoning change for a 157-acre property where an industrial and commercial development is planned.
The undeveloped property, which is known as the Ron George Farm, is at 119th Street and Weber Road.
The zoning was changed to permit the development of the 117-acre industrial area, which will have frontage along 119th Street and a commercial/retail area that will front along Weber.
The development will be known as Carlow Corporate Center and is being built by Remington-Weber Partners of Bolingbrook.
It will include an interior road through the development as well as a road designated for truck use on the west side. In addition, three retention ponds totaling 11 acres are proposed.
Residents of the nearby Fields of Bradford subdivision had expressed concerns about various issues related to the development, such as lighting, the number of access points to be allowed on 119th Street, and what buffering is planned.
Those issues will be taken into account, said Eddie Moore, a senior planner for the village.
“Whenever (the specific) development plans come in, those issues will be reviewed by the staff,” he said.
