Veteran Loop criminal lawyer Arthur N. Nasser has been sentenced to 12 months in jail on his conviction for helping a Virginia Beach, Va., nightclub owner evade income taxes.
Nasser, 70, a former Internal Revenue Service specialist, also was barred Thursday by a federal judge from practicing law for two years after his release.
Nasser was convicted of obstructing justice and preparation of a false 1994 tax return on behalf of the nightclub owner.
