Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
Your April 12 editorial on Ireland was marred by a stunning omission in the list of players you saluted. President Clinton has been a driving force behind these negotiations. He selected the man you justifiably praise, George Mitchell, who broke a logjam in relations when he invited Gerry Adams to this country at the cost of much invective from hard-liners. Clinton utilized his superb negotiating skills at the last hour, intervening late in the night to save these negotiations.
Shame on you for such a heavy-handed attempt to avoid praise where praise was most assuredly due.
