Final plans for six more sections of the Deerpath subdivision were unanimously approved Wednesday night by the Wonder Lake Village Board.
Annexed to the village two years ago, the project will contain 166 single-family homes.
The project also calls for the development of wetlands for water retention, a proposal that the developer said is more ecologically sound than conventional systems.
“It’s a forward-thinking type of design,” said David Galowich of Madison Realty Group Inc.
“I think we’ve done a fairly thorough job of planning it. The county really gave us a good looking at,” he added.
Planting of cattails and wild flowers will accent the detention basins and help filter any runoff, Galowich said.
Construction has not yet begun in the subdivision and a timeline still needs to be set.
In other business, the board approved dates for the villagewide garage sale, May 29, 30 and 31 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. No permits will be required for village residents.
