I found Dan Johnson-Weinberger’s appeal for Illinois to change its election rules to allow for a so-called “instant runoff” to be most interesting (Voice, April 25). This was apparently brought on by the failure of the liberals to capture the Democratic gubernatorial nomination.
I don’t seem to recall a similar outcry for this change when 57 percent of the voters roundly rejected Bill Clinton for president in 1992. I guess I just must not have been paying attention.
