Political consultant Gregory Swan was ordered Wednesday to forfeit nearly $102,000 in assets by the same federal jury that convicted him Tuesday in Chicago on ghost-payrolling charges.

Swan, who is facing 6 to 8 years in prison for his conviction on racketeering, money laundering and extortion charges, was also taken into custody for violating conditions of his bond. Swan, 50, of the Southwest Side had been free on his own recognizance since he was charged a year ago.

Swan, an associate of former Ald. John Madrzyk (13th), was convicted of kicking back money to Madrzyk for placing him, his girlfriend and a teenage son on the city payroll in no-show jobs.
