Loretta Gillespie Bergmann, 91, died Saturday at the Cheyenne Mountain Nursing Home in Colorado Springs, Colo. A Chicago native, Mrs. Bergmann was a homemaker and a clerk at the John V. LeMoyne School on the North Side. Up until the age of 87, she was an avid bowler, said her daughter, Kay Atwood. “We called her our Wild Irish Rose, with her twinkling eyes and great sense of humor,” Atwood said. Mrs. Bergmann was preceded in death by her husband, John, the former dental chief for the Chicago Board of Health. Mrs. Bergmann is survived by a son, John; two daughters, Kay Atwood and Maryann Klimek; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ignatius Church, 6559 N. Glenwood Ave., Chicago.
