Nine pupils who attend the Arbury Hills School and live in the Charrington subdivision will no longer have to make the trip to Arbury Hills, which is on the Frankfort-Mokena border.
School District 161 board members voted unanimously Wednesday night to reassign the nine pupils to the much nearer Indian Trail School at 100 Frankfort Square Rd. The subdivision is on the corner adjacent to 88th Avenue and U.S. Highway 30.
Supt. Julius Rogus said he surveyed Charrington homeowners in recent months about transferring pupils to Indian Trail. The parents asked that their children be sent only to Indian Trail.
Rogus also said he studied enrollment from the subdivision and projected the transfer would increase class size at Indian Trail by no more than one pupil per class.
