Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Michael Jordan is certainly one of the greatest basketball players of all time, a great scorer whose many records are well-chronicled. Why have none of your writers ever mentioned where Jordan ranks on the career list for shots attempted and shots missed? The man is also one of the greatest gunners of all time.

If he retires and goes back to baseball, it should be as a pitcher–his arm is never tired. He’d also fill some of Jerry Reinsdorf’s empty seats.

Editor’s note: Jordan (21,686) ranks fifth all time in shots attempted behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (28,307), Elvin Hayes (24,272), John Havlicek (23,930) and Wilt Chamberlain (23,497). His career field-goal percentage is .505, meaning he has made 10,962 shots and missed 10,724. Abdul-Jabbar (.559) and Chamberlain (.540) have higher shooting percentages; Hayes (.459) and Havlicek (.439) have lower. All four missed more shots.
