Peter Filip Phillips, 99, who came to the United States nearly 75 years ago, died Friday in his Park Ridge home. He was born in the small Slovak village of Podkonice, in what was then Hungary and now Slovakia, and came to the United States with his wife, Anna, in 1924. He was a retired cabinetmaker. He was a member of Jednota, a national Catholic Slovak organization. He is survived by a daughter, Mildred Standa; a son, Robert Filip ; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday in Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, 7812 N. Milwaukee Ave., Niles. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Paul of the Cross Church, 320 S. Washington St., Park Ridge.
