Sixteen years ago an 18-year-old freshman at the University of North Carolina hit the winning shot in the 1982 NCAA national championship game. Thus the legend of Michael Jordan was born.

After an illustrious career at North Carolina, the Chicago Bulls drafted this special young man.

Over Michael Jordan’s career, he was propelled to be the world’s most recognizable and loved athlete. There was something special about Jordan that not only did Chicago Bulls fans embrace him, but people of the world did as well.

People who do not care about the game of basketball tune in to watch Jordan perform his acrobatic shots.

Jordan is not just a basketball player, he is an artist and a role model to many kids who do not have a role model in their life. And even though he has made more millions than he’ll ever be able to spend, he has stayed real and true to his fans. That is a much greater feat than anything he has accomplished on the basketball court.

Michael Jordan has personified what it takes to be a winner, not only in the game of basketball but in the game of life.

The people of Chicago truly are blessed that they have an individual with the class, demeanor and will to win that Michael Jordan possesses.

He may wear the Bulls jersey, but he plays basketball for and represents the world.
