Morris Rapoport, 78, of Lincolnwood, a Holocaust survivor whose construction firm built synagogues on the North Shore, died Thursday in Rush North Shore Medical Center in Skokie. Mr. Rapoport, a native of Poland, was held captive in Nazi concentration camps in southern Poland and Czechoslovakia. He moved to Chicago in 1949 and started Sim Construction Co. of Skokie, which also built custom homes. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Masha; a daughter, Gail Levin; a son, Kenneth; and two grandchildren. Services will be at noon Sunday in Piser Chapel, 9200 N. Skokie Blvd., Skokie.
