Clara E. Arend, 82, of McHenry died Sunday in Alden Terrace Health Care Center of McHenry. She was a former resident of Elgin and the Aurora area. She worked for the Elgin National Watch Co. She also was an auxiliary volunteer for McHenry Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin and the Pink Door Auxiliary at Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry. Survivors include three sisters, Alvina Walsh, Florence Britz and Ethel Blake; and a brother, Victor Freund. Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday in George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home, 3519 W. Elm St., McHenry. Mass will be said at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 1401 N. Richmond Ave., McHenry.
