Sylvia Good, 83, who worked for 31 years as a Cook County deputy sheriff, died Tuesday in Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago. “She really loved (her job)–we were kidding that if she were alive, she would want to be buried in the courtroom,” said her son, Sheldon. “If you talked to her, you might have thought she was working on commission. She liked helping all these people.” Mrs. Good, a Chicago native, had served under Cook County Circuit Judges Thomas Rosenberg and Mitchell Leikin. Other survivors include a daughter, Ferne Stone; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Piser Original Weinstein Chapel, 3019 W. Peterson Ave., Chicago.
