Because McDonald Corp.’s Chairman Michael Quinlan is pressuring vendors to provide contributions to George Ryan’s campaign for governor (News, July 31), the “Golden Arches” now stand for Republican politics, not burgers. This means that everyone who eats at McDonald’s is providing indirect financial support to George Ryan and his Republican Party. Democrats and Glenn Poshard supporters will have to think twice before they wander into a McDonald’s restaurant. Mr. Quinlan has now alienated hundreds of thousands of his customers.
