A 33-year-old Joliet Township man has been indicted by a Will County grand jury on charges of having alleged sexual encounters with underage boys who live in his neighborhood.
Roger Dale Brown Jr., who lives in a subdivision near Mills and Briggs Streets just outside of Joliet, is charged with 16 counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and one count each of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and criminal sexual assault.
Brown was arrested by Will County sheriff’s police last week after a 12-year-old boy told police about an alleged sexual encounter he had with a man who lived in his subdivision. The boy also told police that two other boys in his neighborhood had similar alleged encounters with the man.
According to the indictment, the incidents with the three boys took place between Feb. 1 and July 27. Brown apparently has no prior record of sexual abuse, according to police.
Brown was being held in the Will County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 17.
