A full house of Lake Bluff and Sanctuary subdivision residents discussed an annexation petition at a recent Lake Bluff Village Board meeting.
The petition, submitted by Sanctuary residents, requested that the area housing 531 people and situated almost a mile north of Illinois Highway 176, between Illinois Highway 43 and U.S. Highway 41, be incorporated into Lake Bluff.
Village Administrator Kent Street said the merger could be financially profitable, with estimated annual tax revenues from the subdivision exceeding the village’s annual operating expenses for services by about $75,000.
