Fred Hohmeier, 75, of Des Plaines, a retired purchasing agent for a lumber company, died Friday in Holy Family Hospital in Des Plaines. Mr. Hohmeier, a Chicago native, was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Hohmeier retired from Maher Lumber Co. in Wood Dale in 1991 after 28 years of service. “He was a very faithful, loyal employee,” said Ron Maher, owner of the company. Survivors include two sons, Joseph and David; a daughter, Mary; a sister, Florence Zimmerman; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Raymond Catholic Church, Elmhurst Road and Lincoln Street, Mt. Prospect.
