A station wagon carrying 11 people overturned Tuesday evening on the Dan Ryan Expressway, sending all the occupants to area hospitals.
Police had not determined late Tuesday why the car rolled over as it traveled north on the Ryan at 47th Street. Police said no other vehicles were involved.
A 2-year-old boy, a 25-year-old woman and two girls, ages 6 and 11, were in fair condition in Cook County Hospital. An 8-year-old boy and a woman in her 30s were treated at St. Bernard Hospital and released.
Two girls, ages 3 and 5, were in fair condition in the University of Chicago Hospitals; three boys, ages 1, 3, and 15, were in good condition there.
